Reading by environment

Surface bracket55 L of water and 2,365 m²/h rated: medium and large floor areas, one step below the KIRA B 200 (200 L). One tank covers in the region of 2,000 m²; beyond that, for vast areas to be cleaned in a single slot, the B 200 takes over.
Footprint / aisles900 mm passage width and 228 kg: it needs clear aisles. Fine in open logistics, retail and manufacturing spaces; not a robot for cluttered areas.
Floors and soilingRoller scrubber-dryer with pre-sweep and side brush: it handles adherent and wet soiling on hard floors, right up to the edges. No carpet. Bulky waste must be dealt with beforehand despite the pre-sweep.
Public / hoursMajor asset: IEC 63327 certified by DEKRA, usable with the public present (public-access buildings). Cybersecurity certifications as well, a rare and reassuring point. 69 dBA: daytime use to be framed according to the environment.
PlumbingWater, charging and rinsing dock optional: with it, cycles run back to back autonomously; without it, the 55 / 55 L tanks are filled and drained by hand.
Operating profileComplete autonomy ecosystem and built-in 4G: designed for remotely supervised operation. Capex/opex framing below.

Floors and soiling

A scrubber-dryer for hard floors: its core target is adherent, greasy and wet soiling, right up to the edges thanks to the side brush and pre-sweep. No carpet. Bulky solid waste must be pre-swept despite the built-in pre-sweep, which is sized for fine debris. This is a deep-scrubbing machine for clear hard floors, not a high-volume sweeper.

What the manufacturer does not say

The certification is real and the body is named. IEC 63327 by DEKRA, with cybersecurity certifications: a solid differentiator against competitors who claim conformity without naming a certification body. A genuine argument in public-access buildings.

Watch the stated brush pressure. Kärcher publishes 80 g/cm², a surface pressure, with no equivalent in kilograms. Do not compare it with the brush pressures in kg quoted for other machines.

No published customer reference. Mentions of sensor suppliers or supervision tools are not customers. Kärcher publishes none for this model.

Total cost is opaque. The dock is a paid option, and the complete ecosystem costs more than the machine alone. Cost structure: machine + dock (water, charging, rinsing) + consumables + 4G connectivity.

Buying or outsourcing

If you buy (capex), the IEC 63327 certification by DEKRA and the cybersecurity side make it a solid choice for public-access buildings, but the brush pressure is given as a surface pressure (80 g/cm²), which cannot be compared with the pressures in kilograms quoted for other machines. If you outsource (opex), the contractor carries those technical trade-offs and continuity. See our robot range and the demonstration, or our robotic cleaning service.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • IEC 63327 (DEKRA) and cybersecurity certified: usable in public-access buildings, rare at this level of evidence.
  • Complete autonomy ecosystem (water, charging and rinsing dock) and built-in 4G.
  • Rich navigation suite (3 LiDARs, 4 3D sensors, 11 ultrasonic sensors).

Limitations

  • 550 mm brush and 900 mm passage width: clear aisles required.
  • Dock is a paid option, total cost opaque.
  • Long charge (5.2 h), no carpet.

Alternatives to the Kärcher KIRA B 50

The KIRA B 50 is a pure 55 cm autonomous floor scrubber, IEC 63327 certified, with a charging, water and rinsing dock. The alternatives fall into two families: autonomous floor scrubbers of the same size, which scrub and dry as it does, and 50 to 55 cm multifunction robots, which add sweeping and vacuuming in the same pass for sales floors and lobbies. The table compares the models on measurable criteria; prices are not published and are on request across the whole market.
