In less than ten years, the commercial cleaning robot market has settled into four product families, around thirty manufacturers and roughly a hundred models. This Observatory is a 2026 snapshot of that market, drawn from the database Easy to Clean maintains for its own needs as an operator and distributor, and which it has chosen to publish in aggregate form. Every figure is calculated across the 101 documented models. "Not published" means the information was not found in the public documentation; it never means the feature is absent or the machine is non-compliant.

Medians are calculated on the models that publish the figure; observed productivity typically falls between half and two thirds of the rated figure. 32 models (32%) were launched in 2024, 2025 or 2026; 28 (28%) handle carpet; 9 (9%) are rated for outdoor or semi-outdoor use; 98 (97%) publish people detection; 87 (86%) publish online reporting.

IEC 63327: 13% of models publish their conformity
IEC 63327 (2021), the international standard for floor treatment machines with autonomous functions for commercial use, sets the safety requirements for robotic cleaning machines: people and obstacle detection, drops and steps, speeds and stopping distances, warning signals, emergency stop. Of 101 models, 13 publish a conformity or a certification (13%), 83 publish nothing (82%) and 4 are out of scope. Seven manufacturers publish, most of them European; German manufacturers publish for most of their models, while Chinese, American and Singaporean manufacturers very rarely do. "Not published" is not "non-compliant": many manufacturers supply the declaration on request. Market price ranges
Manufacturers rarely publish their prices; distributors and price guides do so more often. Purchase prices observed in September 2026, excluding docking station and installation: €15,000 to €25,000 for a compact multifunction robot or an autonomous vacuum, €25,000 to €50,000 for an autonomous floor scrubber of 50 to 75 cm, €55,000 and above for an industrial ride-on machine; docking station from €1,000 to €8,000; maintenance at 10 to 15% of the purchase price per year; total cost of ownership over five years from €600 to €2,000 per month depending on the machine. A conventional cleaning contract is invoiced at €1.5 to €5 per m² per month depending on the type of premises, and the French cleaning sector is trying to fill more than 84,000 operative positions a year, 44% of which are rated hard to fill. Where the figures come from, and how to read them
The database. Easy to Clean documents 101 commercial cleaning robots from 35 manufacturers against 81 criteria: identity and family, dimensions and cleaning width, rated and observed productivity, tanks and hoppers, battery and docking station, navigation and perception, control and connectivity, safety and certifications, interoperability, commercial status. The sources are the data sheets, websites, brochures and press releases of the manufacturers and their distributors, verified model by model in 2025-2026, with a verification date on every row. The database exists first of all to support our own work as a distributor and operator; we publish its aggregates and measurable criteria, not our opinions.
The conventions. "Not published" means the information was not found in the public documentation at the verification date; it is neither an absence of the feature nor a non-conformity. Productivity figures are those rated by the manufacturers; where observed figures exist, we report them separately. Medians are calculated on the models that publish the figure. Prices are dated, third-party public prices in their original currency; never Easy to Clean's own prices, which are available on request.
The limits. The database covers most of the models distributed in Europe and North America, not the whole of the world market; public documentation changes, and a manufacturer may have published a figure after our verification. We correct on request, with supporting evidence. The studies measure transparency only, never the actual quality or safety of a machine.
