Keenon KLEENBOT C55 · specs, operator review and alternatives (2026)

The Keenon KLEENBOT C55 is the large-area cleaning robot of the KLEENBOT family, launched in 2025 for sites above 3,000 m² (shopping centres, airports, railway stations, car parks, logistics). It cleans a 550 mm path, carries 60 L of clean water and 47 L of recovery water, and runs continuously thanks to a dual battery that swaps in 5 seconds. Its ability to clear 5 cm obstacles makes it a candidate for underground car parks and their speed bumps. It weighs 150 kg and is 850 mm wide. Price and availability on request.

Reading by environment

Floor area tierThis is the highest-capacity model in the family. A 60 L tank, 2,376 m²/h rated and continuous operation through a 5-second battery swap: built for sites above 3,000 m². With the optional water station plumbed into the building, it runs cycle after cycle without interruption.
Footprint / aisles850 mm wide, 150 kg: it needs clear aisles and room to move. In cluttered areas or partitioned offices it is not the right choice; a C40 or a C20 is a better fit.
Floors and soilingDry and wet multifunction cleaning on hard floors. Carpet not published. What really sets it apart is not the soiling it handles but the terrain it can cope with.
Obstacle clearance / car parksIts ability to clear 5 cm is the distinctive operational argument: it makes the robot a candidate for underground car parks and their speed bumps, where many robots stall. Note that 5 cm is an obstacle clearance figure, not a gradient; Keenon does not publish a gradient for this model.
PlumbingOptional water station, plumbed into the building: this is what separates it from the C40 (manual fill). Without it, the large 60 L tank spaces out refills but does not remove them.
Public / hoursA large machine: use with the public present needs to be framed site by site. Certification for public areas to be checked at quotation stage.

Floors and soiling

A dry and wet multifunction robot for large hard-floor areas. Core target: mixed soiling on wide, open floors and in car parks. Carpet not published. Its value lies less in the type of soiling than in its ability to cover large volumes and clear the obstacles found in car parks.

What the manufacturer does not say

The 5 cm figure is an obstacle clearance, not a gradient. Keenon publishes no gradient for the C55. This capability is what makes it suitable for underground car parks, but it should not be read as ramp performance.

The large tank is not a water-saving system. 60 L spaces out refills, but Keenon announces no water recycling: capacity and frugality are not the same thing.

Energy consumption cannot be calculated: a hot-swap dual-battery architecture, with neither capacity nor voltage published.

Distribution not published for this model to date, and few public customer references (launched in 2025). Cost structure: machine plus dock plus optional water station plus consumables.

Purchase or outsourced service

On purchase (capex), the C55 targets large areas with a 5 cm obstacle clearance (suitable for underground car parks), but without water recycling the large tank only spaces out refills, and its distribution is not yet confirmed. A direct purchase is premature; under an outsourced service (opex), that sourcing and the water logistics pass to the contractor. See the catalogue and the demonstration, or our robotic cleaning offer.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Large tank (60 L) and continuous operation through hot swapping: built for large sites.
  • Clears 5 cm: suitable for underground car parks.
  • Water station that can be plumbed into the building (optional), 4 stereo cameras with 360° coverage.

Limitations

  • 850 mm and 150 kg: needs clear aisles, unsuited to cluttered areas.
  • 4 h charge (offset by hot swapping), dock and station optional.
  • Distribution and gradient not published; recent model.

Alternatives

  • Within the KLEENBOT family: the C40 (more compact, 500 to 4,500 m², no water station) one size down.
  • Against other large-area robots: the large-format autonomous floor scrubbers (see the dedicated group) on wide, open floors.
