Nexaro NR 1500 and NR 1700 · specs, operator review and alternatives (2026)

The Nexaro NR 1500 and NR 1700 are compact B2B autonomous vacuums from Nexaro (Vorwerk group), designed and built in Germany for office cleaning, hotels, public buildings and retail. They vacuum dry, handle both carpet and hard floors, and stand out for the best-established certification on the market: IEC 63327 (plus the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC for the NR 1700), issued by TÜV Süd, a named body. The NR 1500 is ultra-light (6.5 kg) with the station included; the NR 1700 complements it. Price and availability on request.

Reading by environment

Certification firstThis is the strong point: IEC 63327 issued by TÜV Süd, a named body, plus the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC for the NR 1700. It is the best-established certification on the market, a real asset in buildings open to the public, where most competitors claim conformity without naming a body.
Floor area tierUp to 1,000 m² per cycle: small and medium-sized areas. The 1.4 L bin means frequent emptying on larger floor areas.
Footprint / aislesUltra-light (6.5 kg for the NR 1500): very easy to handle, ideal for hotel rooms, offices and halls.
Floors and soilingDry vacuuming, carpet and hard floors. HEPA filtration (H13 on the NR 1500; washable, so not a consumable, on the NR 1700). Does not scrub.
Public / hours49 dBA in Eco mode: very quiet, usable during the day on an occupied site.
FleetThe NR 1700 manages multi-floor and multi-site fleets from a browser-based hub, with zones that adjust themselves.

Floors and soiling

Dry vacuums for carpet and hard floors: dust and fine particles, HEPA filtration. They do not scrub. Bulky waste is out of scope (1.4 L bin). A certified vacuuming complement for hotels, offices and halls, to be paired with a floor scrubber for wet cleaning.

What the manufacturer does not say

The certification is the market benchmark. A named standard (IEC 63327), a named directive (2006/42/EC), a named body (TÜV Süd): it is the only robot in our dataset to meet the criterion so clearly. Set this against competitors that cite a standard without a certificate.

The NR 1700 is thinly documented on specifications. Nexaro communicates through sales material: dimensions, weight, runtime in hours and suction are not published for the NR 1700. For a certified German-built machine, that is a gap to close at quotation stage.

The NR 1700's washable HEPA filter is not a consumable. A recurring saving, unlike disposable filters. Cost structure: machine plus station plus reduced consumables (washable filter on the NR 1700).

Purchase or outsourced service

On purchase (capex), the TÜV Süd certification (named standard, directive and body) makes the NR 1500 an accessible, well-documented vacuuming building block, but the 1.4 L bin means someone has to be there to empty it. Under an outsourced service (opex), the contractor carries the fleet, often run as a fleet through the Nexaro hub, and continuity. See the catalogue and the demonstration, or our robotic cleaning offer.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • IEC 63327 certification by TÜV Süd (a named body), the best-established on the market.
  • Ultra-light (6.5 kg), very quiet (49 dBA in Eco mode), carpet and hard floors.
  • Station included (NR 1500), washable HEPA filter and fleet management (NR 1700).

Limitations

  • 1.4 L bin: frequent emptying.
  • NR 1700 specifications not published.
  • Dry vacuuming only.

Alternatives

  • Against other autonomous vacuums: the LionsBot R3 Vac and the SoftBank Whiz (a range at the end of its cycle).
  • For scrubbing alongside: a floor scrubber such as the Gausium Scrubber 50 Pro.
