The Kärcher KIRA B 200 is a large ride-on autonomous floor scrubber launched in 2025 for airports, railway stations, logistics and manufacturing sites and large public buildings. It carries 200 L of clean water and 200 L of recovery water, delivers the highest rated productivity in the KIRA range (up to 4,860 m²/h) and is certified to IEC 63327:2021. It comes in two head versions, and the head decides the terrain: BR 200 (roller, for textured and heavily soiled floors, with built-in pre-sweeping) and BD 200 (disc, for smooth, delicate and glossy floors). It weighs more than 600 kg and needs aisles of at least 1,350 mm. Price and availability on request.

The choice between the two versions is not a matter of taste: the floor types are mutually exclusive, and a site will settle on one or the other. They share the chassis, the 200 / 200 L tanks, the navigation, the electronics, the batteries and the docking station.

In short: BR for textured, dirty floors that need sweeping and scrubbing at the same time; BD for smooth, glossy floors where finish and throughput come first.

Floors and soiling
A large scrubber for hard floors, where the head decides the terrain: BR (roller) for textured, uneven or heavily soiled floors, with pre-sweeping and edge cleaning; BD (disc) for smooth, delicate and glossy floors, with the highest productivity but no pre-sweeping. No carpet. On a floor littered with coarse debris, the BD version requires a separate sweep first; the BR handles it in the same pass. Choosing the head means choosing the floor, not merely a level of finish.
What the manufacturer does not say
BR and BD are two machines that must not be confused. Separate catalogue references, mutually exclusive floor types. The headline productivity figure (4,860 m²/h) belongs to the BD, on smooth floors; the BR, at 4,590, brings the pre-sweeping. Choosing on the productivity figure alone leads to the wrong purchase if the floor is textured.
The BD has no pre-sweeping. On a littered floor, a separate sweep is still needed: finish and throughput are paid for with an extra upstream pass.
Several range-level values remain to be confirmed. The 6% gradient applies to the KIRA range, not specifically to the B 200; the 7,143 m² area per fill is published without distinguishing between versions, even though their productivity differs by 6%. To be clarified at quotation stage.
No published customer reference for the B 200 (the known references belong to the KIRA B 50). The machine was launched in 2025, so field experience is still limited. Cost structure: machine plus optional docking station plus consumables (diamond or melamine pads, or rollers).
Purchase or outsourced service
On purchase (capex), BR and BD are two distinct machines for mutually exclusive floors: choosing on productivity alone leads to the wrong purchase if the floor is textured, and the BD requires a separate sweep first. Limitations
- A 1,350 mm passage width and more than 600 kg: very large open sites only.
- BD without pre-sweeping: an upstream pass is needed on littered floors.
- Docking station is optional, and several values need confirming at quotation stage.
