Gausium Vacuum 40 · specs, operator review and alternatives (2026)

The Gausium Vacuum 40 is a 3-in-1 autonomous vacuum launched in 2021, for hotels, offices, commercial buildings and healthcare. It vacuums a 720 mm path, handles carpet and automatically detects the floor type to adjust its pass. It relies on a charging dock. Observed productivity of 400 to 800 m²/h depending on the mode. Its limitation: it only vacuums dry (no scrubbing) and remains slow (0.9 m/s). Price and availability on request.

Reading by environment

Surface bracketLarge container (12 L + 2.5 L) and dock: designed for long vacuuming rounds in hotels. Modest observed productivity (400 to 800 m²/h).
Footprint / aisles720 mm, 91 kg: medium and large hotel and office floor areas.
Floors and soilingDry vacuuming, carpet included, with floor-type detection that adjusts the pass. Does not scrub. Bulky waste out of scope.
Public / hoursAimed at hotels and healthcare. Slow (0.9 m/s), to be built into the schedule.
Multifunction3-in-1 on carpet: vacuuming adjusted to the floor covering detected.
PlumbingNot applicable: dry machine. Dock for recharging.

Floors and soiling

A dry vacuum for carpet and hard floors: dust and small debris in hotels, offices and healthcare, with adjustment to the floor type. Does not scrub. Bulky waste out of scope. A vacuuming complement to pair with a scrubber-dryer for scrubbing.

What the manufacturer does not say

It only vacuums dry. No scrubbing: the Vacuum 40 covers vacuuming, to be complemented by a scrubber-dryer. Floor-type detection optimises the vacuuming, not wet cleaning.

Observed productivity is modest. 400 to 800 m²/h in practice (against 2,300 rated) and 0.9 m/s: size on the observed figure, not the claim.

The large container is an asset in hotels. A 12 L bag limits how often it needs emptying on long rounds. Cost structure: machine + dock + consumables (bags, filters).

Buying or outsourcing

If you buy (capex), the large 12 L bag spaces out emptying in hotels, but observed productivity (400 to 800 m²/h) is far below the rated figure and it only vacuums dry, to be complemented by a scrubber. If you outsource (opex), the contractor sets the real throughput and carries the complete sequence. See our robot range and the demonstration, or our robotic cleaning service.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Handles carpet, floor-type detection (3-in-1).
  • Large container (12 L + 2.5 L), charging dock.
  • Suited to long hotel rounds.

Limitations

  • Only vacuums dry (no scrubbing).
  • Modest observed productivity (400 to 800 m²/h), 0.9 m/s.
  • 4° gradient, 91 kg.

Alternatives

  • Against autonomous vacuums: the Nexaro NR 1500 (TÜV Süd certified) and the LionsBot R3 Vac.
  • For scrubbing alongside it: the Gausium Scrubber 50 Pro.
