Gausium Phantas · specs, operator review and alternatives (2026)

The Gausium Phantas is a compact 4-in-1 cleaning robot (sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, drying) launched in 2022, and one of the smallest in its category. It scrubs a 330 mm path, vacuums a 465 mm path, fits through a 650 mm corridor and weighs 65 kg. Its tanks are deliberately small (11.5 L clean water, 10.5 L recovery), offset by water-saving management. It navigates with 2D LiDAR and 3D cameras, handles low-pile carpet, emits 65 dBA (60 in quiet mode) and recharges in 2 hours with automatic return to the dock. It is sold under its own brand and, as an OEM product, as the TASKI Phantas by Diversey. Price and availability on request.

Reading by environment

An operator's reading grid, derived from the published specs. Each verdict follows from the figures in the table.

CriterionWhat the specs sayVerdict
Surface bracket350 to 700 m²/h observed · 11.5 / 10.5 L tanks · 4.5 h runtime in intensive mode · Auto Spot CleaningThis is not a high-output machine, it is a finisher for cluttered spaces. Its core use sits around 1,500 to 3,000 m²/day of mixed, furnished floor space. Tipping point: above roughly 4,000 m²/day on open floors, a wider machine (Gausium Mira or Omnie, or a scrubber-dryer) does the same job faster, and the Phantas's compactness no longer counts for anything. Buying a Phantas to cover large open floor plates is a mistake.
Footprint / aislesMinimum passage width 650 mm · 65 kg · tight turning circleThis is what it was built for. With a 650 mm passage width, it travels where a standard scrubber-dryer (800 mm and above) cannot: furnished offices, shops, clinic corridors, hotel lobbies. On that specific ground, it does what a wider machine physically cannot do.
Floors and soiling4-in-1 · rollers + 0 mm side brush · 10 kg pressure · low-pile carpet · 6 L binVersatile on light mixed soiling: it sweeps, vacuums and scrubs in a single pass, low-pile carpet included. Two limits to bear in mind: the 10 kg brush pressure is designed for routine maintenance, not for stripping ingrained greasy soiling; and the 6 L bin fills quickly with bulky debris. Details in the matrix below.
Public / hoursIEC 63327 claimed (TASKI OEM version) · 65 / 60 dBA · people detectionUsable during the day and with the public present: the noise level is published and low, and public-area certification is claimed on the OEM version. A genuine asset for hotels, healthcare and daytime office cleaning. To secure: the certification is documented on the TASKI version and should be confirmed contractually for the standard Gausium version.
PlumbingDock included · optional water workstation · Auto Spot CleaningThe charging dock is supplied. Without the water workstation, the small 11.5 / 10.5 L tanks mean frequent refills and drains, softened by Auto Spot Cleaning, which cuts consumption sharply. The optional workstation automates the water cycle without plumbing work.
Operating profilePurchase (capex) or RaaS (opex) · multi-robot · app supervisionBuying means operating: training, brush and filter upkeep, consumables management (HEPA, bags), supervision. Outsourcing transfers that workload. Framed further down.

Floors and soiling: what the machine really handles

The Phantas is a 4-in-1: it combines sweeping, vacuuming and scrubbing in the same pass. That is its appeal, but it does not make it universal. Here is what it handles, and where its real limits lie.

Type of soilingThe PhantasWhat to plan for
Light mixed soiling (dust, crumbs, marks, shoe scuffs on hard floor or low-pile carpet)Core target. It sweeps, vacuums and scrubs in a single pass, right up to the edge at 0 mm. This is exactly what a compact 4-in-1 is designed for.Nothing: this is its job.
Greasy or ingrained soilingLimited. The 10 kg brush pressure is designed for maintenance, not stripping. For a very greasy floor (kitchen, workshop), a scrubber-dryer with high brush pressure is better suited.
Solid waste, large volumes (debris, packaging)Out of scope. The 6 L bin fills quickly; this is not a sweeper.Pre-sweep bulky waste, or run a sweeper with a large hopper beforehand.
Thick or deeply soiled carpetNo: low-pile carpet only, for surface maintenance. For thick carpet or shampooing, plan for dedicated equipment.

The principle is the same on any real site: the 4-in-1 handles the light everyday mix, but as soon as the quantity or nature of the soiling rises (bulky waste, thick grease), a preliminary pass or a specialised machine is needed. A demonstration starts from the trio of floor area × aisle width × soiling profile, not from the floor type alone.

What the manufacturer does not say

It is the same robot as the TASKI Phantas. The Phantas is sold as an OEM product by Diversey under the name TASKI Phantas. A buyer comparing "Gausium Phantas" and "TASKI Phantas" is comparing the same machine: what differs is the distribution network, the support and the associated service, not the hardware.

Observed productivity is far below the rated figures. 1,188 to 1,674 m²/h rated, 350 to 700 m²/h observed, a factor of 2 to 4. For any sizing exercise, work from the lower end of the range: this robot is a finisher for constrained spaces, not a machine for covering ground.

The sensor configuration varies by version. The official data sheet lists one 2D LiDAR; some recent versions (S1.3) are advertised with more sensors by a third-party reseller. The configuration actually delivered should be checked at quotation.

The real cost goes beyond the machine. On top of the machine price come the water workstation (optional), the model-specific consumables (HEPA filter, dust bags, rollers, squeegees) and connectivity. The budget for fully autonomous operation is higher than the price of the machine alone.

A point of accuracy. The Phantas has genuinely won awards: ISSA Innovation of the Year 2022, Red Dot Design Award and A' Design Award (silver), among others. On the other hand, an iF Design Award 2023 is sometimes wrongly attributed to it (it belongs to another series): we do not list it.

Buying or outsourcing

If you buy (capex), the Phantas is the same hardware as the OEM TASKI Phantas: what commits you is the support network you choose, not the machine, and observed productivity (350 to 700 m²/h) is far below the rated figures. If you outsource (opex), the contractor carries that support and sizes the fleet on the ground. If you are equipping your own teams, our Pudu robot range and an on-site demonstration frame the purchase. If you would rather outsource, our robotic cleaning service carries the operation end to end.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • The most compact in its category: 650 mm passage width, it goes where scrubber-dryers cannot.
  • A true 4-in-1: sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing and drying in a single pass, edge cleaning at 0 mm.
  • Usable during the day and in public: 65 / 60 dBA, public-area certification claimed, low-pile carpet accepted.
  • Mature ecosystem: dock included, opportunity charging, fleet management, free updates.
  • A genuinely award-winning robot (ISSA Innovation of the Year 2022, Red Dot), proven through the Diversey OEM channel.

Limitations

  • Small tanks (11.5 / 10.5 L) and a 6 L bin: limited pace without the workstation, bulky waste excluded.
  • 10 kg brush pressure: routine maintenance, not stripping of ingrained greasy soiling.
  • Modest observed productivity (350 to 700 m²/h): unsuited to large open floors.
  • Public-area certification and sensor configuration to be confirmed at quotation depending on the version.

Commercial status 2026

The Phantas remains on sale in 2026, in versions 1.2 and 1.3. Two frequent confusions are worth clearing up: the Phantas S1 Pro, released in 2024, extends the range without replacing the Phantas (it is not an end of series); and Diversey's TASKI Phantas is the same robot sold under another brand. The model continues to be deployed with recent clients.

Alternatives

  • Within the Gausium range: the PhanShop, same cleaning base with a display screen for retail; the Mira and then the Omnie, both larger, as floor area increases.
  • Against competing compact 4-in-1 robots: the Pudu CC1 / CC1 Pro and the Keenon KLEENBOT for similar needs.
  • When floor area matters more than compactness: a dedicated scrubber-dryer (see the autonomous floor scrubbers cluster) covers large open floors faster.
